About the Institute of Facial Surgery St. Paul

The Institute of Facial Surgery St. Paul is well-equipped to handle the demanding needs of our diverse patient population.  Our state-of-the –art surgical facility is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), a distinction typically reserved for centers that meet only the highest commitment to quality healthcare for those they serve.

What is the AAAHC?

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care or simply the Accreditation Association is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1979.  It is the preeminent leader in developing standards to advance and promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research.

What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a voluntary process through which an ambulatory health care organization is able to measure quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards.

The accreditation process involves self-assessment by the organization, as well as a thorough review by the Accreditation Association’s expert surveyors, who themselves have extensive experience in the ambulatory health care environment.

All organizations who meet the Accreditation Association’s rigorous standards publicly demonstrate their adherence to the following core criteria:

  • Rights of Patients
  • Governance
  • Administration
  • Quality of Care Provided
  • Quality Management and Improvement
  • Clinical Records and Health Information
  • Facilities and Environment
